She wishes out loud, "I wish I may, I wish I might, find my wishing star tonight." She loves stars, she loves the way they brighten the darkened sky and wished they could do the same to her darkened world. She looks out her window at the sky and wonders if there is a star that could grant her wishes, her very own wishing star.

In the wonder of the night sky,
I see the stars,
my stars,
my friends
and I long to find the one to grant my wishes
My own wishing star,
to turn my upside down world right side up again
Are you out there?
You all wink at me,
Like trying to get my attention
Can anyone grant wishes
or are you only friends
to comfort me
to brighten up
if only for a moment
my darkened world?

She finds herself laughing at her silliness, "what am I doing looking for a wishing star". Yet in her heart she wonders, as a familiar melody stirs inside: "When you wish upon a star, makes no different who you are". She smiles, "yes, that is me". "when you wish upon a star your dreams come true." A sigh slips from her lips as she hums the song, maybe?

"Do wishes come true". She's heard the question, played with the idea in her mind and even written her thoughts in a poem.

If I wished upon a star
One shooting across the sky,
Would my wish come true
Or is that a myth, a lie?
Who would grant these wishes
Is there a genie I can't see
And how many do I get
Are all my wishes free?
Can I wish for all the stars
And the moon hung in the night,
Love to fill my heart
And the future in my site.
Peace throughout the world
Joy in every heart
Food for every child
And everyone would feel a part.
Are there answers for my questions
My friend I ask of you,
In this world of fantasy and reality
Do wishes really come true?
................... an abused angel

As she traveled between fantasy and reality, between her dreams and the storms that roared around her, there was something inside her that shouted, "Yes, wishes do come true!"

Yes, wishes do come true
Each one whispered or thought
The deepest longings of my heart
That my soul has always sought.
No, there is no magic genie
To make my wishes come true
But a powerful source above
My Father who loves me too.
He blesses me with what I need
And looks deep inside my soul
Always knows what's best for me
And is there to make me whole.
He can heal my shattered heart
And in my darkness send the light
Can drive away the demons
And the nightmares in the night.
It all won't happen for me
In the twinkling of an eye
But all my prayers He'll answer
From His kingdom up on high.
If I give my heart to Him
And faith will be my quest
Then wishes can come true
For He give to me His best!

She believes wishes come true, but does she believe they will come true for her or has she given up on all of her wishes.
